Emma Luo sitting by the water

EMMA LUO is a composer for film and musical theatre.

She believes music and storytelling are catalysts for curiosity, imagination, and empathy. This instills in her a necessity to make art!

Eclectic, spirited, and sun-dappled, Emma’s music sprouts from her innate sensitivity and swelling heart. Known for her spellbinding melody writing, she combines a razor-sharp intuition with meticulous work ethic, pouring 200% of her soul into everything she touches.

Her scores and songs have played at the Cannes Marché du Film (2025), won “Best Student Score” at the Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival (2025), and received a Distinctive Merit in Music Composition at the Canadian National Theatre School Dramafest (2023).

A classically-trained pianist and violinist of 15 years, Emma also arranges strings for pop/folk songs and plays in studio sessions. She finds home in Toronto and NYC, where she currently studies screen scoring at NYU.

But don’t take it all from me (mysterious sexy third person narrator), here’s what her collaborators, mentors, and friends have to say:
